Serves: 2–4
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 10 mins
Equipment: Frying pan or mini oven

Ingredients:

  • 4–8 hot dogs or cocktail sausages
  • 1 pack of ready-to-roll puff pastry or crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg (for glaze, optional)
  • Mustard or ketchup for “eyes”
  • Light oil or non-stick spray

Method:

  1. Roll out your dough and slice it into thin 1cm strips.

  2. Wrap each sausage in the pastry strips, leaving a small gap for the “face.”

  3. Heat a little oil in a frying pan or use a mini oven. Cook until golden brown and crisp — around 8–10 minutes.

  4. Add dots of ketchup or mustard for eyes and serve warm.

Vanlife tip: You can pre-wrap these at home, store them in the fridge, and cook fresh at your campsite for an effortless Halloween meal on the road.
